Detailed information:

Rodano is a small town (4,500 inhabitants) in the eastern Milan surroundings. The city can be easily reached by 2 main roads. At 1.5 km (Pioltello) a subway (passante ferroviario) is available. Within a couple of years another subway line will reach the Linate Airport.

The Rodano urbanization covers only 20% of the its entire territory which makes part of the protected “Agricultural South Milan Park”  Such location means that new urbanizations are not allowed, except some farm restructuring or rebuilding old buildings keeping the same volumes. The few dwellings of a certain size do not exceed 3 stores. All the others are villas, bi- or multi-family houses or 2 store dwellings. The Rodano environment can be defined a green area where, even during the winter period one lives in a non polluted territory. In summer time the temperatures are always 2°C lowers than those in Milan.

The plot is about 950 sq.mt on which an architectural office worked out a house project fitted for the present owners, but allowing easily and inexpensive modifications to meet different family needs.

The external wall of the house is covered by facebricks thus avoiding any maintenance. An arcade is available in a corner of the house with a fireplace for summer bbq.

The architectural project met the energy control law resulting in a 30% natural gas sparing compared to similar houses built in the same period .

At the ground floor are available a large living room with fireplace, a bedoom with ample closet, a second bedroom, two bathrooms, a large kitchen with fireplace and pantry, and 3 smaller additional store rooms. All the floors are in “cotto toscano” bricks, except one of the two bedrooms in iroko parquet. Outside the living room  a living arcade is available with fireplace for summer barbecues.

A stair in the entrance allows access to the luminous mansard composed of a bedroom, a bathroom and a large living (library, office, etc.) On the roof 2 solar panels heat the water for the bathrooms and the kitchen.

The basement includes a very large multipurpose room (playing, gymnasium, billiard, etc.) a wine cellar, deposit and wood-shed, wash and drying room with shower, a two car garage and the central heating room with a new gas fired boiler.

In the 800 sq.mt garden a swimming pool can be installed.
